Position Overview
Cashiers are essential in delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring quick, courteous, precise, and secure transaction processing. Their duties include handling purchases and returns at the checkout, as well as supervising the Self-Checkout zone. They actively enhance their knowledge about products and projects to inform customers and recognize sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies helps reduce losses due to shrinkage.
Head Cashier Responsibilities
Head Cashiers guide and assist Cashiers by managing register assignments, expediting price verifications, and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across multiple service areas including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They serve as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns and contribute to overseeing, coaching, and training Front End Associates. This includes participating in onboarding new Cashiers and using available tools to foster staff development.
Additional Information
The preferred candidate for the Head Cashier role has at least one year of experience in a cashier position.
