Role overview

This position is for a bank cashier who will manage teller-side transactions, keep cash tallies accurate, and deliver courteous support to customers. The role is based in Tiruppur and is suited to a graduate candidate at the start of their career.

Key responsibilities

• Receive cash deposits and handle withdrawal requests with precision.
• Recount, verify, and reconcile cash to keep balances correct.
• Maintain accuracy in every cash-related task and flag mismatches promptly.
• Identify counterfeit notes and escalate any irregularities.
• Support customers with questions related to their accounts.
• Share information about available banking products and services.
• Address routine customer issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Work to ensure a smooth and positive branch customer experience.
• Process cheques, demand drafts, fund transfers, payments, remittances, and account deposits.
• Check customer identity and validate supporting documents before completing transactions.
• Follow banking rules, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements for all processing.
• Keep accurate records of transactions and prepare daily reports.
• Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of the shift.
• Protect customer information and maintain confidentiality.
• Observe bank policy, security practices, and anti-fraud / anti-money-laundering controls.
• Watch for unusual transactions and report suspicious activity as needed.
• Handle cash and sensitive papers safely and responsibly.
