Primary Purpose of the Role

The Business Risk Analyst is tasked with overseeing Business Risk controls and alarms, conducting initial assessments to identify the nature of issues, and subsequently escalating or coordinating with relevant teams to reduce future risks and exposures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Revenue Assurance reconciliations and Fraud Mitigation controls closely.
  • Analyze anomalies in revenue assurance reconciliations and fraud alerts that exceed defined KPIs or thresholds to identify underlying causes.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate teams and ensure timely follow-up investigations for resolution within assigned KPIs.
  • Document incidents that negatively impact the company, including estimating associated revenue loss or damages.
  • Review implementation of new products, services, or promotions to verify correct processing and billing and prevent abuse or fraud.
  • Conduct ad-hoc investigations related to customer complaints involving fraud or scams.
  • Perform testing to detect varied fraud and revenue leakage patterns within the organization.
  • Continuously update system parameters to detect emerging fraud or leakage scenarios based on user behavior changes, following change management protocols.

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Business Administration, Arts, or an equivalent qualification or experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or fraud management with strong functional expertise.
  • More than 3 years proficiency in relevant programming and control languages such as Java, C++, .NET, or C#.

Functional and Technical Skills

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and presentation capabilities with effective communication across IT, technical, and business units.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Database PL/SQL.
  • Technical comprehension of telecommunications systems and networks, including BSS platforms like billing, order management, CRM, and accounts receivable.
  • Experience conducting data analysis with Python or R.
