About the Role and Company
HIA Insurance Services (HIAIS) is a specialized insurance brokerage serving the residential building industry. Established in 1984, HIAIS operates as a joint venture between Aon and the Housing Industry Association (HIA), combining Aon's global expertise in risk and insurance with HIA's extensive knowledge and representation of the housing industry across Australia. HIA is the sole national association supporting residential builders, trade contractors, developers, and design professionals.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Business Development Executive to join our South Australian HIAIS team. The selected candidate will focus on acquiring new business opportunities and enhancing cross-sell possibilities within HIAIS offerings through excellent client service and pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business sales initiatives for HIA Insurance Services.
- Build and sustain a robust sales pipeline for prospective clients.
- Effectively transition clients to the Broking Team to maintain long-term client relationships.
- Track and report on budget and sales results regularly.
- Engage with potential clients, clearly communicate value propositions, and identify opportunities for cross-selling.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the insurance industry, preferably in insurance broking.
- Sound understanding of risk product ranges, related service offerings, and delivery mechanisms.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong motivation to generate new business.
- Skilled in negotiation and influencing stakeholders positively.
- Capability to build and maintain professional relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
