Role Overview
Glenorchy City Council is looking for a skilled and proactive Business Analyst to lead business transformation and continuous improvement efforts. This position focuses on optimising Council's business processes, systems, and operational efficiency to enhance service delivery to the Glenorchy community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives for continuous business process and system enhancements across the Council.
- Assess and deploy new functionalities, updates, and upgrades within enterprise platforms such as Technology One, ECM, and Microsoft 365.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements, automation, reporting enhancements, and effective system usage to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, ICT staff, and vendors to comprehend needs and craft practical solutions.
- Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, document findings, and support adoption of improved systems and processes.
- Create and maintain detailed process maps, business analysis documents, and governance materials to aid informed decisions and compliance.
- Conduct impact, risk, and benefit assessments of proposed changes, offering data-backed recommendations for operational improvements.
- Design and support automation processes, dashboards, and reporting tools to increase organizational transparency and effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
- Strong analytical mindset with a curiosity for how organizations function and a drive to enhance systems and processes.
- Proficient in business process modelling, analysis, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience applying Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving approaches.
- Excellent skills in eliciting requirements, documenting them clearly, and facilitating stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to bridge business and technical teams, translating complex requirements into actionable solutions.
- Competent in evaluating technologies, system capabilities, and vendor releases to maximize business value.
- Strong critical thinking skills to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Able to produce comprehensive documentation, reports, and business analysis artifacts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, ICT, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years' experience in roles involving business analysis, enterprise system implementation, or continuous improvement.
- Proven track record supporting operational environments, system optimisation, or business improvement initiatives.
Employment Details
This is a full-time position operating on a 76-hour, 9-day fortnight schedule. Employees receive a rostered day off every fortnight.
