Position Overview
Located in Jefferson City, MO, within the Office of State Courts Administrator, this Business Analyst role offers an opportunity to engage in diverse projects within a collaborative and innovative environment. You will work alongside dedicated professionals to support the mission of the Missouri Judiciary by enhancing administrative, business, and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document organizational processes to identify areas for operational improvement and increased efficiency.
- Convert business needs into clear, concise, and understandable functional requirements that explain complex processes and proposed solutions.
- Develop process flows, conceptual documents, requirement documents, and functional specifications to guide development.
- Utilize business data analysis to inform design decisions.
- Present design concepts and solutions to committees for approval.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, business units, and end users to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
- Create and implement quality assurance tests, including manual and automated testing procedures.
- Support user acceptance testing and coordinate implementation strategies.
- Track project progress and ensure alignment of solutions with business goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience substituted year-for-year.
- Capability to analyze policies, procedures, and operations; translate these into system specifications or programs adaptable to automated systems.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in eliciting requirements through varied techniques.
- Skilled at creating and interpreting process diagrams, flowcharts, and business models.
- Able to identify and define project scope, objectives, and functionalities.
- Competent in translating technical language into accessible terminology.
- Experience in converting business processes into IT requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication, including presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with relational database design principles.
- Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Understanding of computer hardware and software operational principles.
- Knowledge of software frameworks used by the Information Technology Services Division.
