Team and Location

Based primarily in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Anduril’s Middle East division delivers state-of-the-art platforms and integrated software systems tailored for regional customers, with a focus on Saudi Arabia as the principal growth market. The team specializes in adapting Anduril’s core hardware and software to meet the unique defense needs of Saudi Arabia and the GCC, rapidly expanding their presence in Riyadh. The Business Development (BD) team links Saudi defense stakeholders with Anduril’s global teams, translating regional operational needs into product development while representing the brand locally.

Role Overview

The Associate Director of Business Development in Riyadh will spearhead efforts to discover, shape, and secure growth opportunities across Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. This role involves close collaboration with Saudi defense entities and the company’s international product and engineering teams to ensure product offerings align with Saudi security priorities and Vision 2030 localization plans. The position demands cultural sensitivity, deep understanding of Saudi procurement, and initiative to navigate complex defense environments and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within Saudi Arabia, including traveling extensively across the Kingdom and engaging at major defense exhibitions like the World Defense Show.
• Develop and implement capture strategies that incorporate acquisition paths, alignment with Saudi investment programs, and competitive positioning, while collaborating with organizations such as GAMI and SAMI to secure funding and coordinate localization and supplier development.
• Facilitate product adoption and transition to operational use by managing pilot programs, field trials, and joint R&D initiatives, ensuring the product suite addresses Saudi desert and maritime operational requirements.
• Expand existing business by collaborating with local teams and partners to enhance contracts and deploy new technologies including sensor integrations and software-driven command and control solutions.
• Represent Anduril’s brand and values to Saudi leadership, industrial partners, and the public, clearly communicating a software-first innovation approach and commitment to local co-production and technology transfer.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience in business development, strategic sales, or military operations working directly with Saudi government defense agencies including MoD, MNG, MoI, and security forces.
• Proven track record in commercial or defense contract wins aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 defense localization mandates.
• Practical understanding of Saudi Arabia’s strategic security environment and procurement processes including GAMI regulations.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-accountability settings with minimal structure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience briefing senior military and executive personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50%-75%) mostly within Saudi Arabia and Middle East, with occasional trips to U.S. headquarters.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S., Canadian, U.K., Australian, New Zealand, or Saudi Arabian government security clearance.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience managing capture efforts involving Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) or local defense-industrial partners.
• Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), ITAR regulations, licensing, and technology export controls.
• Proven success with defense modernization programs in KSA and the Middle East including growing programs from inception.
• Demonstrated high energy and leadership, with strong emotional intelligence and cultural awareness, able to work in entrepreneurial, rapidly evolving environments.
• Residency in Riyadh or willingness to relocate permanently.
• Active government security clearance in specified countries is highly desirable.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
