Assistant Restaurant Manager

Overview

We are seeking a capable Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our hospitality team in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will possess robust leadership skills and solid experience in managing restaurant and banquet operations within a luxury environment. Key Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager in managing daily restaurant operations to ensure seamless service and uphold hotel and outlet standards.
• Oversee service delivery by maintaining close floor presence during service hours and engaging directly with guests and staff.
• Conduct informative pre-shift briefings covering reservations, guest preferences, menu updates, promotions, service priorities, and sales targets.
• Assign tasks and supervise staff performance during shifts, ensuring adequate staffing levels according to business needs.
• Maintain expert knowledge of food and beverage offerings to encourage upselling and guide the team effectively.
• Collaborate with culinary and hotel departments to provide a coordinated service experience.
• Manage banquet events by preparing, coordinating, and supervising setup, service, and guest satisfaction.
• Handle all opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation, and ensure completion of operational checklists promptly.
• Ensure proper maintenance and use of equipment and report operational or safety issues for swift resolution.
• Build strong guest relationships by delivering personalized service, addressing feedback professionally, and promoting guest satisfaction.
• Support financial objectives through monitoring sales, revenue, profitability, controlling costs, and promoting revenue-enhancement activities.
• Participate in inventory management and ensure compliance with cash handling policies.
• Assist in staff scheduling, record-keeping, reporting, and training documentation.
• Lead, motivate, and mentor team members, providing coaching and training to enhance their performance and skills.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in line with company values.
• Adhere strictly to food hygiene, safety, security policies, and legal requirements, ensuring compliance across all team members.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as necessary and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Preferred diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of experience in an Assistant Restaurant Manager or supervisory role in luxury hotels or high-end restaurants, with banquet operations experience mandatory.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including service standards, menu, and beverage offerings.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of revenue management, upselling, cost control, inventory processes, and operational efficiency.
• Proficiency with Point-of-Sale systems and restaurant/hotel reservation platforms is advantageous.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages considered a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
