Job Overview
The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Khalifa University is seeking highly qualified faculty members to fill positions at all academic levels, including Assistant and Associate Professor, in Chemical Engineering. This role involves contributing to the department's expanding research and educational initiatives aligned with the UAE's strategic goals in energy transition, decarbonization, digitalization, and sustainable technologies.

Strategic Research Areas
- Molecular Thermodynamics and Advanced Computational Methods: Emphasizing phase behavior, transport phenomena, and process modeling to enhance molecular-level insights for innovative process design.
- Circular Economy and Sustainable Conversion Technologies: Focusing on catalysis, reaction engineering, and process systems to promote sustainable production of fuels, chemicals, and materials.
- Energy Systems and Electrochemical Engineering: Integrating material design, thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport to improve energy production, conversion, storage, and utilization technologies including hydrogen, batteries, and electrochemical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead independent, impactful research resulting in internationally recognized publications.
- Establish and maintain an externally funded research portfolio aligned with departmental priorities.
- Deliver teaching and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students with a dedication to academic excellence.
- Mentor students and junior researchers to support their academic and professional development.
- Participate in curriculum development and departmental service functions.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and partnership with industry and research institutions to translate research into real-world solutions.
- Support initiatives aimed at enhancing the department’s global visibility and advancing university research goals.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven research excellence demonstrated by high-impact publications.
- Successful teaching experience including student supervision capabilities.
- Experience in securing and managing externally funded research projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and contribute to departmental advancement.
