Position Overview
This role involves handling guests' requests for specialized services such as transportation, dining reservations, and dry cleaning by coordinating arrangements or directing them to the right service providers. The Assistant Chief Concierge also attends to guests with distinct needs, ensuring their satisfaction through effective follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel amenities and local attractions, including special events and activities.
- Manage and respond to all guest communications including calls, messages, inquiries, and concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with relevant departments such as Bellperson and Housekeeping to address guest requests and resolve issues.
- Keep detailed records of daily operations, reviewing shift logs and memos and documenting important information in logbooks.
- Prioritize and ensure completion of pending guest requests from previous shifts.
- Oversee inventory levels and place orders for general office supplies as needed.
- Report any guest reports of theft or security concerns to the Loss Prevention or Security team.
- Support management in staff hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Act as a role model and the initial contact point under the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Report workplace accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management and complete necessary safety trainings.
- Adhere to company policies, maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, and protect company assets.
- Greet guests warmly according to the company standards, anticipate their service needs, assist those with disabilities, and express sincere appreciation to guests.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, answering telephone calls with proper etiquette.
- Foster positive working relationships among staff and ensure compliance with quality standards and expectations.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors, including moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- Experience: At least one year in related work along with one year of supervisory experience.
- Licenses or Certifications: None required.
