Assistant Accountant

Role Responsibilities

• Support the finance department's daily operations by managing accounts payable and receivable processes, including payments and debtor management.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly accounts encompassing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and detailed financial analyses.
• Generate comprehensive monthly management reports covering sales trends, gross profit margins, cost evaluations, and budget variance commentary catered to leadership and external stakeholders.
• Handle compliance and statutory filings, including BAS, PAYG, FBT returns, and income tax submissions.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring, facilitating annual budgets, capital expenditure oversight, and ongoing budget analysis.
• Maintain and enhance ERP systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, and Leadership to ensure accurate billing, rebate processing, reporting, and delivery of commercial insights.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Between one and three years of accounting experience.
• Background experience in manufacturing, engineering, or construction industries is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent organizational capabilities.
• A cooperative, positive attitude with a practical approach to tasks.
• Experience or familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial.
• Interest in or current pursuit of CA or CPA qualifications (not mandatory).
