About the Role
Join one of Canada's leading retail employers and contribute to safeguarding our stores and communities as an Asset Protection Representative based in Courtenay, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities
- Prevent, identify, and address theft and fraud within the store premises to reduce losses.
- Work alongside fellow asset protection professionals to handle provincial or national Organized Retail Crime investigations.
- Maintain regular cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.
- Conduct internal investigations, prepare evidence for legal or arbitration proceedings.
- Spot potential shrinkage and ensure compliance with operational standards to minimize losses.
- Foster strong partnerships with store management through meetings and coaching colleagues on asset protection policies.
- Participate in store audits and community outreach activities.
- Be available to work diverse shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends maintaining a 40-hour workweek.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must hold a valid Provincial Security Guard License.
- Basic knowledge of Canadian Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, arrest powers, CCTV, and surveillance systems.
- Proficiency with Windows applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Professional, approachable, and friendly interpersonal style.
- High levels of initiative and integrity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
