Role Overview

We are seeking skilled Applied AI Engineers to join our team in building AI-native systems for BJAK's AI Neobank application. This role emphasizes hands-on development, focusing on deploying AI to automate workflows, enhance product functionality, reduce manual intervention, and simplify financial services for both users and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI agents, workflow automations, tools, and systems addressing customer, product, and operational challenges.
• Implement solutions involving large language models (LLMs), retrieval systems, tool integration, evaluation metrics, guardrails, and workflow automation tailored for financial processes.
• Create AI-enhanced user experiences across onboarding, customer support, KYC, risk assessment, CRM, operations, document management, and product intelligence.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to prioritize and efficiently deliver impactful features, iterating in production environments.
• Design systems considering real-world constraints such as accuracy, mitigating hallucinations, latency, cost-efficiency, security, compliance, and maintaining user trust.
• Transform manual tasks into scalable, dependable AI-integrated systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Strong practical engineering skills beyond theoretical AI strategy or management.
• Experience constructing AI agents, LLM-based applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, automation workflows, copilots, or AI tools.
• Proficiency in programming with Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or equivalent technologies.
• Sound decision-making about automation feasibility and appropriateness.
• Capability to deliver functional solutions, ensure testing quality, and enhance system reliability over time.
• Experience in fintech domains such as banking, customer support automation, risk management, KYC, fraud detection, CRM, or operational automation is highly desirable.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates have a proven track record of contributing significantly to technology projects, beyond just working at well-known companies. Personal involvement in designing, deploying, or scaling complex products or platforms is essential.

Location and Language

This position is fully remote; however, applicants must be located in Ireland as we are recruiting specifically within this market. Strong English communication skills are required as it is the primary working language across our global teams.
