Role Overview
The Application Specialist role focuses on providing expert technical support and training for BD's clinical microbiology products, primarily serving customers in the Vietnam market. This position requires collaboration with sales, marketing, and service departments to promote product adoption and address customer technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed technical presentations, demonstrations, and training to customers including end-users, laboratory staff, and healthcare practitioners on BD instruments, reagents, and software solutions.
- Offer both on-site and remote technical assistance, troubleshooting instrument and application issues, and ensuring accurate calibration and operation.
- Support sales efforts by participating in pre-sales activities such as product evaluation, technical discussions, and proposal preparation to facilitate new business acquisition.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with key opinion leaders and customers by understanding their needs and suggesting relevant BD product solutions.
- Perform post-installation follow-up to confirm customer satisfaction and manage ongoing technical or application-related inquiries.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify potential product enhancements and contribute to new product development efforts.
- Prepare regular reports outlining customer interactions, technical challenges, and market insights.
- Keep current with industry developments, competitor products, and newly released solutions to maintain strong technical knowledge.
- Comply with all BD company policies, regulatory standards, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Essential experience in clinical microbiology with practical knowledge of laboratory instruments related to microbiology or molecular diagnostics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related science discipline.
- Minimum two years working experience in clinical laboratories or as an Application Specialist within the medical device or diagnostics sector.
- Effective communication and presentation skills in English and Vietnamese, able to train and educate diverse audiences on complex technical topics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel regularly within Vietnam and occasionally abroad.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to dependable transportation.
