Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison for all tax-related matters in the APAC region.
• Ensure exemplary tax compliance by coordinating with local teams and external consultants as required.
• Deliver internal tax guidance and operational support on regional matters covering international, direct, indirect, corporate, and personal taxation. This includes advising on structuring commercial deals and contracts, and supporting new business initiatives such as launching products or services.
• Identify and execute tax optimization opportunities for the region, collaborating closely with the global tax team to preserve consistency and alignment with worldwide tax strategies and frameworks.
• Manage communications, inquiries, relationships, and audits involving local tax authorities, including handling disputes, challenges, and tax-related litigation.
• Stay up-to-date on evolving tax laws and policies in the region, including those related to cryptocurrency.
• Lead and oversee any special tax projects within the APAC region as needed.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Accounting, Economics, or Taxation.
• Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, ideally from a Big 4 accounting firm and/or in-house tax roles.
• Proven leadership experience in tax functions within the Asia Pacific region, with strong expertise in operations and compliance.
• A quick learner with a high degree of adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced work environments.
• Self-motivated and proactive, capable of thriving independently in a remote work setting.
• A demonstrated hands-on, team-oriented approach with success in collaborative environments.
