The Corporate Infrastructure Services Department (CISD) is dedicated to creating an exceptional workplace enabling staff to perform optimally. Within CISD, the Corporate Business Continuity Management & Workplace Security Team is responsible for ensuring operational resilience during disruptions while protecting the physical safety of employees, facilities, and assets worldwide.
This role involves strengthening GIC’s physical security readiness, response, and recovery capabilities by integrating technical, analytical, and operational expertise to foster a culture of preparedness and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage fundamental security operations such as issuing and managing access cards, conducting access reviews, and handling incident response and escalation to ensure reliable daily process management.
- Document and analyze current security operations workflows to identify inefficiencies, manual steps, and control weaknesses.
- Recommend and aid in implementing improvements like automation, enhanced workflows, and stricter controls for greater operational efficiency and reliability.
- Keep all security documentation up-to-date, including access records, issue logs, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide support for security-related activities including building and data center power down events, VVIP meetings, audits, and monthly reporting.
- Assist with security technology initiatives such as designing, installing, and commissioning systems for office renovations, including CCTV, access control, intrusion, and alarm systems.
- Help upgrade security technology capabilities by incorporating video analytics and other innovative hardware and software features.
- Coordinate with vendors, integrators, and contractors to monitor project scope, timelines, testing, and handover phases.
- Support scheduled maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance of security systems.
- Collaborate closely with the broader security team, corporate services, IT, and external partners.
- Share insights on emerging security technologies applicable at GIC and participate in business continuity and workplace resilience activities like drills and documentation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in physical or workplace security operations, security systems, facility management, or related fields; experience in business continuity management or operational resilience is favorable.
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in areas such as security management, information systems, engineering, risk management, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Knowledge and interest in security systems including access control, CCTV, intrusion, and alarm systems, as well as emerging security technologies like video analytics and automation.
- Previous exposure to financial institutions, asset management, or sovereign wealth funds is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in process documentation and improvement.
- Competent in vendor coordination and able to maintain composure and responsiveness in fast-paced settings.
- Familiarity or enthusiasm for security incident response and risk awareness; relevant certifications such as ASIS or vendor-specific security system credentials are beneficial but not compulsory.
