Role Overview
Amazon is looking for an energetic and experienced Tours Manager to lead its Tour Leader program across several Robotics Fulfillment Centers. This vital position involves managing a dispersed team remotely, enhancing the quality and engagement of tours that highlight Amazon’s technological innovation, environmental commitment, and employee focus. The role requires frequent travel to various facilities to perform on-site tour assessments, audits, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and nurture a team of Tour Leaders spanning multiple Robotics Fulfillment Centers.
- Occasionally conduct premium Fulfillment Center tours for VIP guests.
- Leverage tour delivery expertise to travel regularly and perform observations, audits, and provide hands-on coaching.
- Handle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding to sustain adequate Tour Leader staffing.
- Coordinate with product and marketing teams to ensure tours meet design intent and goals related to capacity, visitor flow, and public perception.
- Formulate and execute strategies aimed at continuous improvement of tour quality and team performance.
- Interpret tour feedback and metrics to pinpoint improvement opportunities and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and Amazon policies during tours.
- Design and deliver training to keep Tour Leaders informed of new technologies, initiatives, and effective delivery methods.
- Manage scheduling and capacity planning across multiple locations to maximize resource efficiency.
- Serve as the primary communication interface between the tour program and other Amazon divisions to ensure smooth operations and resolution of issues.
Daily Activities
The role includes varied tasks such as coordinating with Tour Leaders across diverse time zones, analyzing performance and feedback data, conducting individual coaching sessions, collaborating with cross-functional teams on content and marketing strategies, and visiting sites to observe and improve tours firsthand. Training sessions and meetings with local site leadership form part of the travel engagements.

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
- At least 5 years of recent experience in professional communications or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in operations management within fulfillment or distribution centers.
- Experience in customer service roles.
- Skill in managing large, multilingual teams across multiple locations.
- Ability to build trust and maintain professionalism across all organizational levels.
- Adaptability to shifting work environments and priorities.
- Fluency in additional languages besides English is an advantage.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position in California locations (Eastvale, San Diego, Tracy) is $92,600 to $160,000 per year. The compensation package includes sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units.
