AI Project Manager – AI Delivery & Governance

Role Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and motivated AI Project Manager focused on AI Delivery and Governance. This role requires strong leadership in project execution combined with deep techno-functional expertise spanning AI, data, technology risk, governance, and business adoption.

• Establish clear project scope, goals, key milestones, timelines, budget plans, dependencies, and delivery roadmaps for AI-driven initiatives.
• Oversee the end-to-end project delivery journey: from discovery and feasibility analysis, through solution design, development, testing, governance approvals, deployment, and post-implementation evaluation.
• Convert business priorities into structured, outcome-driven AI delivery plans incorporating governance checkpoints.
• Maintain risk, issues, assumptions, decisions, dependencies, change requests, and escalation logs via formal RAID governance.
• Act as a liaison bridging business, product management, data science, engineering, architecture, security, compliance, and governance teams.
• Facilitate workshops, solution walkthroughs, design discussions, agile ceremonies, stakeholder reviews, and steering committee meetings effectively.
• Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and operational readiness documents.
• Coordinate AI governance processes including risk assessments, security and privacy reviews, model validations, and compliance checkpoints.
• Manage responsible AI testing phases such as model evaluation, guardrail validation, user acceptance testing, and deployment readiness.
• Ensure adherence to acceptance criteria emphasizing accuracy, reliability, explainability, fairness, privacy, resilience, monitoring, and human oversight.
• Oversee preparation of runbooks, support frameworks, monitoring dashboards, incident management workflows, user training, and tracking of benefits realization.
• Lead cross-functional internal teams, external vendors, and delivery partners managing Statements of Work, deliverables, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
• Produce executive status updates, steering committee materials, governance reports, delivery health summaries, and benefits realization documentation.
• Support user engagement, training rollout, communications, adoption measurement, and operational model adjustments.
• Continuously improve AI delivery frameworks, governance workflows, reporting standards, and project assurance methods.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Data Science, or related fields.
• 8 to 12+ years of experience managing projects related to technology delivery, business transformation, data, or AI-driven change initiatives.
• At least 4 years focused on technology, data analytics, automation, or AI project leadership.
• Strong grasp of AI delivery lifecycle stages including discovery, feasibility assessment, solution design, development, testing, deployment, governance approvals, and benefits tracking.
• Familiarity with predictive AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), data pipelines, model lifecycle management, model evaluation, AI guardrails, MLOps, LLMOps, AgentOps, and AI monitoring frameworks.
• Expertise in translating complex business requirements into structured project plans, user stories, functional specs, acceptance criteria, test plans, and governance policies.
• Robust project management competencies encompassing planning, scheduling, budgeting, dependency & RAID management, change control, stakeholder engagement, and project assurance.
• Experience coordinating diverse teams across business, technology, data science, engineering, architecture, security, risk, compliance, legal, operations, and external vendors.
• In-depth knowledge of responsible AI principles, including fairness, explainability, privacy, security, human oversight, content safety, prompt-injection prevention, auditability, and traceability.
• Competence in Agile, hybrid, and traditional waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of cloud architectures, data integration, APIs, security identity frameworks, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and operational support mechanisms.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical risks, business implications, delivery alternatives, and governance requirements to senior leadership.
• Experience operating within regulated, security-sensitive, or governance-intensive settings, preferably within banking or financial services sectors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, AI/ML, cloud computing, technology risk, or governance.
• Proven track record managing vendor relationships and implementation partners including SOW tracking, deliverable approval, dependency management, and performance measurement.
• Experience facilitating AI adoption, change management, user training, and benefits realization.
