Position Overview
This fixed-term, full-time role extends until June 2027 and involves working a 9 day fortnight. Based in Townsville, Queensland, the position offers an annual salary range from $78,412 to $84,646 plus superannuation benefits. The Administration Officer will provide essential administrative support within the Infrastructure and Operations division and collaborate widely across council departments to advance the strategic objectives contained in the Corporate Plan, aligning with community consultation goals.
Key Responsibilities & Role Purpose
- Delivering direct administrative services to the assigned section, coordinating efforts within Infrastructure and Operations and across council teams.
- Championing a positive safety culture by leading through example and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols and legislative requirements.
- Managing diverse tasks requiring adaptability to different work locations and teams within the division.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Possession of Certificate IV in Business or equivalent qualifications, or at least 3 years of relevant administrative experience.
- Valid "C" class driver's licence.
- Strong competencies in customer service and communication, including the ability to influence and educate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and familiarity with council-specific financial and administrative systems like CiAnywhere and CES or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated capability to provide timely and relevant administrative, secretarial, reporting, and financial support to multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Excellent time management skills, being able to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- A flexible attitude towards changing workloads and environments, maintaining positivity when undertaking duties in various locations within the division.
