Location and Reporting
This full-time, fixed-term role is based at the AIFF-FIFA-Telangana Talent Academy in Hyderabad, focusing on residential oversight of young athletes.
Role Summary
The Warden will oversee the well-being, discipline, and daily supervision of players living on-site, fostering a safe and supportive environment essential for their athletic and personal growth. Acting as a mentor and parental figure, the Warden will ensure players adhere to hygiene standards, maintain discipline, manage their time effectively, and receive emotional support throughout their stay.
Key Duties
- Manage residential life by maintaining a secure and welcoming atmosphere that facilitates players' comfort and adherence to routine schedules such as wake-up, meals, study sessions, and bedtime.
- Serve as the main point of contact for player welfare issues, nurturing a respectful and disciplined environment.
- Monitor the health status of players, coordinating regular medical checkups or addressing illnesses and injuries swiftly with medical personnel.
- Enforce strict safety protocols within accommodation facilities and react competently during emergencies, documenting and reporting incidents appropriately.
- Uphold and implement academy policies related to behavior, managing disciplinary matters including conflict resolution and bullying with sensitivity and firmness.
- Work alongside coaches and counselors to support behavioral and emotional development through structured interventions.
- Coordinate daily operations involving kitchen, housekeeping, security, transportation, and administrative teams to ensure seamless running of the residential program.
- Maintain meticulous attendance and movement logs for all players and collaborate with management to communicate relevant information to parents or guardians.
- Promote holistic development by encouraging engagement in academics, cultural events, and life-skill activities while addressing psychosocial concerns through referral to counselors or education officers.
- Instill values of respect, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth within the player community.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years’ experience as a residential warden, hostel manager, or similar role involving youth residential care.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and conflict management skills suitable for working with adolescents from varied backgrounds.
Preferred Background
- Educational or professional experience in physical education, psychology, or social work.
- Previous involvement with sports academies or young athletes is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Telugu, Hindi, and English languages.
