Job description
Overview
Lancashire County Council is looking to expand its community support befriending service by hiring three Volunteer Services Officers. This permanent full-time position, based onsite, offers a meaningful way to contribute by aiding individuals facing social isolation and vulnerability. The role offers a salary ranging from A328,142 to A332,061 annually and involves 37 working hours each week within the Public Health domain.
Key Duties
- Oversee the recruitment, coordination, and support of volunteers who provide befriending assistance.
- Manage referrals by conducting thorough home assessments and carefully matching volunteers to clients while ensuring client safety.
- Maintain detailed records and monitor the impact and outcomes of services delivered.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, maintain professional boundaries, and uphold quality standards.
Candidate Profile
- Experience working alongside volunteers, vulnerable populations, or community groups.
- Excellent organisational capabilities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage diverse tasks independently and manage workload efficiently.
- Compassionate, person-centered approach to client care.
Additional Information
- The role does not offer international sponsorship.
- The position requires the applicant to hold a valid driver's license and provide a vehicle insured for business use to travel across Lancashire, though exceptions may be considered for applicants with disabilities.
