UAS Commander (w/m/d)

About the Role

Deutsche Bahn is seeking motivated individuals for over 500 different professions across Germany, ranging from experienced professionals to career starters, offering numerous entry and development opportunities. We are currently looking for a UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) Commander for DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH based in Berlin or Erfurt.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee flight operations across Germany, whether on-site, with remotely operated UAS, or from the control center, ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations.
• Safely execute reconnaissance missions along Deutsche Bahn infrastructure.
• Ensure adherence to relevant aviation laws during all flight operations.
• Manage mission planning as well as pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all required mission data.
• Register flights with relevant authorities before and after missions.

Candidate Profile

• Possess initial flight experience in unmanned aviation with an EU competency certificate for A1/A3 categories, ideally holding A2 or STS certification.
• Desirable experience in the aviation sector, familiarity with UAS legislation (such as LuftVG, LuftVO, EU drone regulations), or official approval procedures, along with enthusiasm to actively contribute to the future of drone aviation at Deutsche Bahn.
• Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to travel nationwide.
• Ability to work responsibly, methodically, and attentively, enjoying understanding complex relationships and developing appropriate solutions.
• Proficient in common office software applications.
• Possession of a valid driver's license completes your qualification profile.
