About the Role

City of Casey is seeking a Turf Crew member to help maintain high-quality sports surfaces at Casey Fields in Narre Warren, Victoria. You will work as part of a committed team to keep playing areas safe, attractive and suitable for community users as well as elite sporting clubs.

• This is a permanent full-time position.
• The role follows a 9-day fortnight roster with a rostered day off.
• Salary starts at $73,093 per year plus superannuation.
• The role is based onsite in Narre Warren, Victoria, Australia.

Casey Fields is an 88-hectare sporting precinct in Cranbourne East and is known as a leading outdoor sports destination in Melbourne’s south-east. It includes sporting ovals, playgrounds and open spaces, and is also used by professional clubs from multiple sports, including Melbourne Football Club and Melbourne City Football Club.

What You Will Be Doing

• Keeping sports turf and playing surfaces maintained to the required standard.
• Using turf maintenance machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Carrying out irrigation, mowing, line marking and turf renovation work.
• Preparing ground surfaces for sporting events and general community use.
• Spotting and reporting problems with turf, irrigation systems and other site assets.
• Helping build a safe, efficient and cooperative team culture.
• Applying turf-approved products in a safe manner.

What You Will Need

• Hands-on experience in sports turf, parks, horticulture or grounds maintenance.
• Understanding of turf care methods and maintenance practices.
• Confidence operating plant, machinery and equipment safely.
• A strong focus on safety and teamwork.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• A qualification in Turf Management, Horticulture or a closely related area is preferred.
• Chem Cert.
• White Card.
• Current Victorian driver licence.
• Willingness to complete pre-employment checks, including a National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Right to Work verification and a Functional Assessment (medical/physio).
