About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and driven Transport Planner to join our team based in Dublin 12 within a 4PL environment. This role involves managing and optimizing transport operations across Ireland, the UK, and the EU while responding swiftly to daily operational needs in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize daily transportation activities within a 4PL operational framework.
- Create optimized transport routes covering Ireland, the UK, and the European Union.
- Assign and coordinate haulier resources to fulfill delivery commitments and uphold service standards.
- Monitor ongoing transportation operations, proactively managing delays, disruptions, and shifting requirements.
- Quickly modify transport plans to reduce delays and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Communicate and collaborate with hauliers, customs teams, clients, warehouses, and internal departments effectively.
- Keep all transport information and delivery statuses current and accurately conveyed.
- Handle multiple transport tasks and priorities within a busy operational context.
- Identify transportation problems promptly and resolve them while keeping stakeholders informed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement processes aimed at enhancing transport efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality.
- Foster and maintain robust relationships with hauliers and other transport partners.
Candidate Profile
- Practical expertise in planning transport operations across Ireland, the UK, and the EU.
- Background in transportation, logistics, or operations management preferred.
- Experience in managing hauliers, schedules, and daily transport tasks.
- Previous involvement in 4PL, 3PL, freight forwarding, or similar transport planning sectors is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of European transport regulations and customs procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to stay composed and make sound decisions in live operational scenarios.
- Proficiency with IT tools and transport management software.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work arrangement.
