Position Overview
The Test Center Administrator (TCA) acts as the representative face of Prometric at testing sites worldwide. This role thrives in dynamic environments supporting individuals undertaking pivotal certification exams. Responsibilities include verifying test taker identities, monitoring exam progress, and enforcing stringent policies to ensure exam integrity. More than 600 TCAs globally serve with distinction, managing computer-based testing environments.
Work Schedule and Location
This position is based in Baton Rouge, LA at 4354 S Sherwood Forest Blvd Suite D-220, operating onsite. The site is open Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 6 PM, with required availability on Saturdays and occasional evening or Sunday hours. Flexible scheduling is necessary, with shifts typically scheduled two weeks in advance.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply and uphold deep expertise in test center policies and procedures.
- Welcome candidates and verify their identification thoroughly.
- Conduct necessary security screenings, including wand scans.
- Continuously oversee candidates during their exams.
- Respond promptly to any candidate concerns or irregularities.
- Maintain security of the test center environment and materials at all times.
- Ensure each candidate experiences a fair and comfortable testing process.
- Report any incidents that deviate from company guidelines.
- Adapt to scheduling needs in accordance with testing center operations.
- Exemplify Prometric’s core values and mission in all interactions.
- Protect the test center against any improper behavior or misconduct.
- If applicable, record candidates’ fingerprint identification electronically.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent mandatory; college coursework advantageous.
- At least one year of in-person customer service experience (e.g., retail, restaurant, call centers) is essential.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Effective professional communication skills with candidates and colleagues.
- Proficiency in writing detailed and precise reports and correspondence.
- Strong multitasking abilities, including handling testing equipment physically.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Windows applications such as MS Office, Outlook, and web browsers.
Physical Demands
- Ability to bend, stoop, and lift items up to 40 pounds.
- Capability to remain stationary for prolonged periods while administering tests.
- Must be able to walk around the testing area every 8-10 minutes and guide candidates as needed.
- Visual acuity to adjust computer displays and monitor testing rooms via cameras.
- Ability to maneuver safely in confined spaces when maintaining computer and office equipment.
