Position Overview

The Technical Support Engineer will act as the primary technical contact for the Electric Vehicle (EV) and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) brands. Responsibilities involve diagnosing electrical and technical issues, ensuring availability of essential tools, technical literature, and service bulletins across locations, and communicating with the brand principal to resolve technical concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical support visits and prepare detailed reports.
• Validate and investigate reported technical concerns.
• Provide remote assistance to troubleshoot technical problems.
• Perform field visits to support resolving technical issues.
• Compile technical information and submit reports to the brand principal.
• Follow up on technical information reports and escalate issues to the Technical Support Manager when necessary.
• Analyze failed parts and coordinate their shipment to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
• Deliver on-the-job coaching to technical teams.
• Manage software updates and maintain special diagnostic tools.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong understanding of EV components and powertrain systems.
• Experience with modern diagnostic and repair methodologies specific to EV and PHEV brands.
• Proficient in compiling and raising technical reports.
• At least 5 years in automotive service roles, including minimum 3 years as a Master Technician in dealer service operations or an equivalent position.
• Educational background in Automobile, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or extensive specialized training in Electric Vehicles.
• Good knowledge of electronics, onboard diagnostics, and next-generation vehicles.
