About the Role
We are looking to recruit a seasoned Technical Project Engineering Manager to lead engineering and technical coordination activities for a significant high-rise mixed-use development project in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience with high-rise towers, mixed-use developments, luxury residential buildings, and five-star hotel projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the technical and engineering teams across all disciplines within the project.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts including structural, architectural, MEP, façade, interior fit-out, infrastructure, and specialty systems.
- Review and align IFC drawings, design documents, BIM models, shop drawings, technical calculations, method statements, and construction details.
- Identify and address design inconsistencies, clashes, constructability issues, and technical interfaces prior to construction execution.
- Manage the preparation, submission, review, and approval process for shop drawings and technical submittals.
- Supervise material submittal processes, technical specifications, sample and mock-up approvals, and ensure compliance documentation is in place.
- Develop and track schedules for material submittals and procurement to guarantee timely approval and delivery aligned with the project timeline.
- Maintain logs for engineering drawings (E1) and material approvals/procurement (E2) to monitor progress.
- Monitor engineering key performance indicators, submission timelines, approval cycles, response durations, overdue issues, and team productivity.
- Engage closely with clients, consultants, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, construction, and project management teams.
- Ensure adherence to Saudi Building Code, municipal regulations, Civil Defense requirements, fire and life safety standards, and other relevant authorities.
- Manage fire and life safety coordination including alarm systems, firefighting, smoke control, emergency systems, evacuation planning, and authority approvals.
- Lead BIM-driven coordination, including clash detection, model reviews, combined services drawings, builders' works drawings, and coordination workshops.
- Support value engineering efforts, design optimization, alternative materials proposals, and cost-efficient technical solutions without compromising quality.
- Provide technical assistance to site teams ensuring proper implementation of approved drawings, materials, and specifications.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering dashboards, recovery strategies, look-ahead schedules, and presentations for senior management.
- Assign responsibilities, evaluate performance, and manage the technical staff reporting directly to this position.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 15 to 20 years of relevant experience, including significant time in a managerial engineering role.
- Proven track record executing high-rise towers, mixed-use developments, luxury residential, and five-star hotel projects.
- In-depth expertise in coordination across structural, architectural, MEP, façade, interior fit-out, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Thorough knowledge of Saudi Arabian regulations including the Saudi Building Code, municipality, Civil Defense, and fire & life safety standards.
- Extensive experience with material approvals, technical specifications, compliance documentation, sample and mock-up approvals.
- Advanced proficiency in BIM coordination workflows, shop drawing preparation, clash detection, and multidisciplinary model management.
- Strong background managing engineering logs such as E1 drawing logs, E2 material logs, RFIs, design changes, and authority approval tracking.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM platforms, document control, Microsoft Office, and engineering reporting software.
- Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia is a must.
- Professional communication skills in English are required; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
