Overview

The Stockperson / Cartpusher plays a critical role in maintaining a secure, orderly, and welcoming environment for customers by managing shopping carts and supporting the store's operations. Responsibilities include retrieving carts from various locations around the premises and returning them safely, all while adhering to company safety procedures and providing courteous customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from designated cart corrals, parking areas, and around the store, safely returning them to their assigned storage locations following approved protocols.
• Respond promptly to requests from registers and Customer Service areas, including assisting customers with carrying items in and out, and verifying receipts when necessary.
• Perform occasional cleaning and upkeep tasks, such as restroom maintenance, complying with established safety guidelines for handling chemicals and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies and emergency procedures, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen standards to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, conduct safety sweeps as needed, and maintain a hazard-free workplace in line with company protocols.
• Maintain flexibility in work hours by being available for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support store operations effectively.

Challenges Associated with the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks in a fast-moving environment effectively, especially during overnight shifts by planning to maintain energy and focus.
• Handle physical demands including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Carry out repetitive duties like stocking and organizing products with consistent attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position starts at $17.75 per hour.
