About the Role
The Stock Controller Team Leader is accountable for running stock control activities end to end, keeping inventory records accurate, and ensuring stock levels are planned and maintained efficiently across the business. The role also includes guiding a team of stock controllers and supporting smooth warehouse and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support the stock control team so they follow processes and deliver strong results.
- Design and roll out stock control workflows that improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Perform routine stock audits and look into any mismatches between system records and physical inventory.
- Use inventory software to monitor stock positions and prepare reports for review and decision-making.
- Work closely with purchasing, logistics, and sales teams to keep products available and support commercial needs.
- Handle stock flows such as receiving, storage, and dispatch while meeting safety and quality requirements.
- Spot patterns in stock performance, recommend improvements, and present key inventory KPIs.
- Liaise with suppliers for replenishment needs and help maintain constructive supplier relationships.
- Make sure stock control practices align with internal policies and established procedures.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in stock control or inventory management, including a minimum of 1 year in a leadership position.
- Solid knowledge of stock control methods and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management systems or similar software.
- Strong analytical ability and careful attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working under pressure and handling several priorities at once.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
