Position Overview

The Sourcing Lead is responsible for managing vendor relationships comprehensively — from identifying and qualifying suppliers to onboarding and ongoing management, spanning both domestic (Canadian/North American) and international sources. This role demands treating suppliers as strategic partners, maintaining fast-paced operations without compromising on quality, cost-effectiveness, or reliability.

Key Duties

• Manage all vendor relations as the central contact for pricing, performance evaluation, and resolving issues.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors across onshore and offshore markets, ensuring rigorous checks on quality, production capacity, regulatory compliance, and financial health.
• Drive strategic sourcing projects aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, reducing lead times, and improving quality, including negotiating pricing and contract terms to safeguard profit margins.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive onboarding protocols, vendor performance scorecards, and conduct regular supplier evaluations.
• Diversify and mitigate risks within the supplier base by balancing offshore cost benefits with onshore agility and responsiveness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, and customer service teams to align vendor performance with timely order fulfillment goals.
• Keep abreast of market dynamics, input cost fluctuations, and supplier-related risks, including tariffs and geopolitical factors, for informed sourcing strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 3 to 5 years or more in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles; experience in apparel or promotional products procurement is advantageous.
• Proven expertise managing both domestic and offshore vendor partnerships.
• Excellent negotiation capabilities with direct ownership of commercial terms, beyond just communication.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple vendor onboarding and sourcing initiatives concurrently.
• Comfortable working with data analyses including cost comparisons, vendor scorecards, and spend analytics.
• Strong and clear communicator who can hold suppliers accountable while fostering durable relationships.
• Bonus: Familiarity with AI tools, such as Claude, to enhance vendor research, request for quote processes, and reporting; committed to leveraging AI daily within operations.
