Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Solutions Engineer to join our Middle East and Africa (MEA) International Government team. This role is customer-facing and involves supporting technical sales activities related to GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence), satellite imagery, AI-enhanced analytics, geospatial data, and mission-critical solutions for government, defense, intelligence, and national security clients across the MEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Forge and sustain strong technical relationships with government, defense, intelligence, public safety, and national security stakeholders throughout MEA.
- Leverage GEOINT and spatial intelligence expertise to support priority missions, including ISR, border security, maritime surveillance, critical infrastructure defense, disaster response, national mapping, defense planning, and intelligence operations.
- Evaluate client environments, assessing systems, data architectures, workflow processes, security standards, hosting parameters, integration pathways, and mission objectives.
- Translate operational concepts into feasible and differentiated technical solution designs that resonate with customers and internal teams.
- Customize technical messaging and deployment strategies to address the diverse political, security, and operational realities across different MEA countries.
- Manage the full technical sales cycle: conduct discovery sessions, deliver tailored demonstrations, develop proof-of-concepts, validate solutions, assist in proposal preparation, and ensure smooth transition to delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Solutions Architects to qualify opportunities, highlight technical advantages, and prioritize resources effectively.
- Design comprehensive spatial intelligence solutions incorporating software, satellite imagery, data, AI analytics, APIs, and partner services.
- Contribute to requests for information/proposals (RFIs/RFPs), compliance documentation, proposal narratives, statements of work, and customer technical descriptions.
- Support evaluation phases and field demonstrations, offering hands-on technical assistance and troubleshooting at customer, partner, and operational sites.
- Advocate deployment models suited for sovereign cloud, private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, bandwidth-constrained, disconnected, and edge computing environments.
- Engage with regional partners, system integrators, resellers, and prime contractors to coordinate joint solution development and customer engagements.
- Serve as a conduit between regional teams and Vantor's Product, Engineering, and Services divisions, relaying field insights and customer feedback.
- Develop reusable regional demonstration assets, solution playbooks, and knowledge bases to enhance team efficiency and execution quality.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Geospatial/GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum five years in solutions engineering, technical sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, geospatial technologies, defense or intelligence sectors, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Strong experience with imagery, geospatial analytics, spatial intelligence, ISR, national security, or similar mission-driven workflows.
- Proven involvement in supporting tenders, RFIs, RFPs, compliance assessments, proposal writing, statements of work, or technical evaluations.
- Demonstrated capability to manage technical sales engagement phases including discovery, qualification, design, demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, validation, and handover to delivery teams.
- Experience with complex geospatial software, data, imagery, analytics, APIs, cloud and hybrid deployments.
- Skilled in facilitating API integrations, data interoperability, and system-to-system workflows within customer environments.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and operational workflows to develop clear, credible technical solutions.
- Experienced in delivering technical presentations, briefings, workshops, or proofs-of-concept to diverse audiences.
- Effective collaboration skills to work within matrixed teams including Sales, Solutions Architects, Product, Engineering, Services, partners, and customers.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally across MEA approximately 25-30% of the time, with possible peaks to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Geospatial Sciences, Remote Sensing, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Systems Engineering, or related domain.
- Experience collaborating with Ministries of Defense, national security agencies, or intelligence organizations in MEA.
- Familiarity with military intelligence workflows, ISR operations, collection management, all-source analysis, operational planning, or command-and-control systems.
- Hands-on experience with satellite imagery, remote sensing, GEOINT platforms, GIS systems, spatial analytics, data fusion, or mission intelligence processes.
- Expertise in applying AI/ML techniques such as computer vision, object detection, change detection, predictive monitoring, multi-source analysis, and intelligence workflows.
- Knowledge of deploying software solutions in sovereign cloud, private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, disconnected, or edge computing environments.
- Understanding 3D terrain data formats (DEM/DTED, Cesium 3D Tiles) and coordinate systems (WGS84, UTM).
- Familiarity with geospatial standards, APIs, SDKs, data formats, and integration approaches, including OGC services, REST APIs, streaming, raster/vector, and 3D terrain or imagery-derived products.
- Proficiency in Arabic, French, or other relevant regional languages is beneficial.
