Role Overview

As part of our inaugural engineering internship cohort, you will play a key role in advancing Notion's reliability and performance to support our rapidly growing user base. This 12-week internship, held from September 14 to December 4 in San Francisco, offers mentorship and hands-on involvement in developing AI Native projects that directly benefit our users and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clean, well-tested, secure, and documented software code.
• Contribute to design improvements of Notion's product features emphasizing an AI-first approach.
• Engage in full stack development tasks including web services, databases, applications, and tools using modern frameworks and technologies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, graduating before Summer 2027.
• Prior internship experience is required.
• Proficiency or working knowledge in at least one programming language such as Typescript, Node.js, or Python.
• A passion for tackling complex problems and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
• Adaptability to dynamic priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office throughout the internship duration.

Essential Skills

• Enthusiasm for AI technologies, with experience or interest in LLMs, embeddings, or machine learning.
• Strong analytical mindset capable of deconstructing complex challenges collaboratively and independently.
• User-focused approach, considering the real-world impact of your work and responsibility that comes with scale.
• Flexibility in technology choices with a willingness to learn new tools and languages.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with technologies in our stack like Typescript, React, and Python.
• Familiarity with computing pioneers and an appreciation for their contributions.
• Interests beyond technology, such as in arts, history, or social sciences.

Compensation and Terms

We offer competitive compensation including hourly rates estimated at $57/hr for Bachelor's level and $61/hr for Master's level candidates based in San Francisco. Equity and benefits are also part of the package, tailored according to location, role complexity, and experience. This internship requires physical presence at the San Francisco office for the full period from September 14 to December 4.
