Role Summary
We seek a Social Media Manager to join our marketing unit to elevate Later's brand presence across multiple social platforms targeting brands and creators. This role demands someone adept at crafting content strategies, managing comprehensive publishing calendars, and confidently producing engaging on-camera content. Working closely with an existing social media manager and reporting to the Senior Content Marketing Manager, you will be a prominent voice for Later online, utilizing creative instincts and platform expertise across all produced content.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and contribute to Later's social content calendar on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, ensuring consistent posting aligned with marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate on quarterly and monthly thematic content to reflect Later Media's narrative, creating engaging audience moments.
- Spot emerging formats, trends, and cultural conversations early, adapting these into platform-native content ideas aligned with Later's voice.
- Formulate and maintain specialized strategies tailored to each platform’s audience behavior, algorithms, and content formats.
- Coordinate with Content, Creative, and Growth Marketing teams to synchronize social activities with campaign launches and product updates.
- Create and feature in short-form video content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, embodying Later's brand on camera.
- Craft persuasive copy for posts, captions, and video scripts, portraying a confident, knowledgeable, and approachable brand personality.
- Collaborate with Creative teams on asset production, offering creative guidance while ensuring brand consistency.
- Produce diverse content formats, from educational carousels to trend-based clips and community spotlights, with a creator-focused approach that drives organic attention.
- Engage proactively with social communities, responding to interactions to foster authentic connections.
- Identify and interact with creators, customers and brand advocates enhancing Later's influence within the creator and social media management spheres.
- Gather insights from audience engagement to refine content strategies and product marketing messages.
- Analyze and report on social media performance metrics to derive insights that improve content and audience growth.
- Collaborate with Demand Generation to integrate social media impact on traffic, brand visibility, and conversion pipelines.
- Utilize Later’s platform tools for scheduling, analytics, and bio link management, enhancing communication of product value.
- Conduct regular content experiments testing formats, posting frequencies, copy styles, and creative approaches, sharing learnings widely.
- Amplify blog content, research, and thought leadership for social distribution in coordination with Content teams.
- Partner with Influencer and Creator teams to explore co-created content and ambassador initiatives to broaden Later's organic reach.
- Work alongside Customer Marketing to highlight success stories, videos, and awards effectively across social channels.
Success Metrics
- Within 60 days: grasp Later’s social voice, content approach, audience traits, and confidently contribute to content planning.
- Within 90 days: produce on-camera content that deeply resonates, driving significant engagement or reach.
- By 6 months: elevate creative standards with tangible gains in engagement, follower growth, or video metrics on multiple platforms.
- Within one year: establish as a valued marketing collaborator, consistently delivering campaign-supporting content.
- Community management and cross-team collaborations should yield measurable improvements in audience sentiment and integrated campaigns.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5+ years hands-on experience managing social media, preferably in-house or agency environments focused on content.
- Confident on-camera presence with a demonstrated portfolio of short-form video content involvement.
- In-depth, up-to-date understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn platforms, including algorithms, formats, and audience behaviors.
- Strong copywriting ability adaptable across platforms, keeping a uniform brand tone.
- Proficiency in managing social content calendars and meeting tight deadlines in dynamic settings.
- Comfortable using social analytics tools, employing data to guide creative choices.
- Effective collaborator engaging with creative, content, and marketing teams.
- Passion for the creator economy, social trends, and influencer marketing evolution.
- Experience with social media management systems for scheduling, analysis, and community interaction.

Compensation and Location
Compensation is determined through data-driven benchmarking, considering role, level, location, and scope, with periodic evaluations. Salaries for this role range from $90,000 to $120,000 annually. Permanent employees also have access to multiple benefits plans. The company operates offices in Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; Chicago, IL; and Vancouver, WA. This role permits fully remote work, and the job location corresponds to where the candidate is based.
