Role Overview

GRW Group is hiring experienced Site Supervisors and Leading Hands for full-time onsite positions located in Northern Queensland, primarily in the Whitsunday region, and the Gold Coast. This position entails travelling between project sites as required. The role involves supervising construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and trades, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring efficient, professional project completion.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily construction tasks on site.
• Lead teams of tradespeople and subcontractors to maintain effective workflow and high standards of workmanship.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality protocols at all times.
• Organize site schedules, deliveries, subcontractor cooperation, and inspections to achieve project milestones.
• Analyze construction drawings and site conditions, identify issues affecting buildability, and escalate these for resolution.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox meetings, and regular safety inspections in line with workplace health and safety laws.
• Track site progress meticulously, keeping accurate records and providing updates to Project Managers and senior leadership.
• Ensure all work meets QBCC, NCC, approved plans, and relevant local authority regulations.
• Support identification and resolution of defects and manage handover procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure streamlined, effective project outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 5 years experience in site supervision or as a leading hand in residential, townhouse, modular, or civil construction projects.
• Holding or ability to obtain a QBCC Site Supervisor Licence is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling multiple trades and keeping work on schedule.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction details, sequencing, quality control, and safe working practices.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulatory compliance, and construction documentation requirements.
• Strong leadership abilities and communication skills, with a practical, hands-on approach to solving problems.
• Experience with site reporting and project management software is a plus.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is essential.
• Willingness to travel between Northern Queensland (Whitsunday) and Gold Coast sites as necessary.
