Service Technician - Wind Energy (Australia)

Work Locations and Schedule

• Positions are available across regional Australia, including sites in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania.
• This role requires residency in the region; it is not a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) position.
• Standard working hours are approximately 8 hours per day, with on-call weekend duties about every 3 to 4 weeks.
• Travel commitments are around 50 days annually.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere rigorously to safety and environmental protocols while meeting service performance goals.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components as specified by Vestas.
• Ensure smooth turbine operations, including monitoring system conditions and remote control usage.
• Manage service vehicle condition and inventory of tools and spare parts through timely procurement.
• Assemble and service components following established standards; utilize cranes when necessary.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Trade qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic disciplines, with eagerness to advance skills in these areas.
• Proficient computer skills for work documentation and monitoring tools usage.
• Effective command of English, both spoken and written.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards within work environments.
• Physical capability to climb wind turbines and perform labor under diverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
• A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills to interact with field teams and broader organization.
• Independent, solution-oriented mindset with strong organizational abilities.
