Service Technician - Renewable Energy

About the Role

Our service team focuses on delivering top-quality maintenance and operational support for wind farms throughout Australia. This position is based regionally across various Australian locations, not FIFO, requiring local residency.

• Work locales include: Western Australia (Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton), South Australia (Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier), Victoria (Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale), New South Wales (Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes), Queensland (Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton), Tasmania (Musselroe, Granville Harbour).
• Work hours: 8 hours daily, with on-call rotation approximately once every 3-4 weekends.
• Expected travel: Around 50 days per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to safety and environmental standards while meeting service objectives.
• Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance following Vestas protocols, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and component replacements.
• Ensure smooth turbine operation through condition monitoring and remote system controls.
• Manage service vehicles and warehouse supplies by ordering necessary materials, tools, and spare parts.
• Assemble and service turbine components as per existing standards, utilizing internal or external lifting equipment when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic disciplines, paired with enthusiasm to advance skills in these areas.
• Proficient with computers and capable of using various tools and systems to document and monitor work.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
• Physical fitness to climb turbines and perform demanding tasks at heights in diverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to multiple work sites as needed.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills, collaborating with field colleagues and broader business units.
• Independent, solution-focused, and well-organized in daily tasks.
