Role Overview

This role focuses on leading the Infrastructure APIs and Developer Ecosystem as a Principal or Staff Product Manager. The successful candidate will manage Partly Rails, a comprehensive transactional backbone that coordinates the full job lifecycle from estimation through reconciliation. The role involves maintaining and growing the developer platform, including external APIs, developer portals, and partner ecosystems, to scale Partly's reach effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and refine Partly Rails as a reliable, scalable transaction product supporting job lifecycle management.
• Oversee the external API program including governance, versioning policies, and integration standards.
• Develop and enhance the developer portal and platform experience, facilitating smooth integration and adoption.
• Build and nurture a global network of integration partners to expand the developer ecosystem.
• Drive the evolution of APIs suited for autonomous agent consumption, ensuring reliability and context awareness.
• Define product strategy, vision, and roadmap with data-driven decision-making based on key metrics like API adoption and system reliability.
• Engage consistently with developers and integration partners to gather feedback and prioritize needs effectively.
• Rapidly prototype and test API experiences and developer tools using AI-assisted development techniques.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, partner success, and support teams to maintain alignment and ecosystem growth.
• Communicate clearly about API roadmap and changes, maintaining transparency for external developers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated ownership of developer-facing API products, including design, governance, and lifecycle management.
• Proven track record building or expanding developer ecosystems, including partner programs and integration networks.
• Strong understanding of developer experience as a product discipline, including onboarding, documentation, and tooling best practices.
• Technical depth sufficient to engage with engineering teams on API architecture and translate requirements into business outcomes.
• Minimum five years managing platform or infrastructure products with clear responsibility for adoption and performance metrics.
• Experience developing rapid prototypes independently using AI-assisted or similar development tools.
• Excellent analytical skills to define, monitor, and act on product metrics without reliance on dedicated data teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience designing APIs for use by autonomous agents or large language model consumption.
• Familiarity with transactional or workflow APIs in sectors like payments, logistics, supply chain, or insurance.
• Experience managing scalable partner or ISV programs.
• Comfort with addressing reliability, observability, and non-functional API requirements.
• Background as a founder or early employee at a scaling platform-first startup.
• History of successfully revising or terminating initiatives based on learnings.
• Domain knowledge in automotive aftermarket, collision repair, or insurance claims is advantageous.
• Experience growing developer platforms internationally and applying product-led growth strategies.
• Involvement in products with meaningful autonomous or automated components.
