About the Role
The Senior Staff Data Scientist will spearhead the research and development of diverse machine learning and statistical modules aligned with business objectives and product development strategies. This role requires effective communication and collaboration across various teams and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing innovative problem statements and overseeing end-to-end deployment of cutting-edge ML and statistical algorithms. Additionally, the candidate will proactively mentor junior data scientists, guiding their research efforts and encouraging publication of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and product needs, applying advanced modeling approaches to deliver timely solutions.
- Conduct research and formulate hypotheses related to current projects to add incremental value to the organization.
- Stay informed of latest advancements in machine learning and statistical methods to ensure application of state-of-the-art techniques.
- Engage regularly with stakeholders from business and product teams to align vision and extract insights that enhance solution effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educational background: B.Tech, BE, M.Tech, MS, or PhD.
- Demonstrable expertise via publications, deployed projects, or solutions in relevant domains.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applied statistical analyses and predictive modeling, including but not limited to regression, support vector machines, decision trees, random forests, boosting methods, neural networks, clustering, forecasting, deep learning, and textual analysis.
- Strong theoretical understanding and practical application skills in a broad range of machine learning algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python or R programming languages is essential.
- Professional experience ranging from 8 to 15 years is required.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Track record of leading research initiatives and mentoring junior data science professionals.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies is advantageous.
