Senior Project Manager

Overview

The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, governance, coordination, and execution of strategic projects and transformation programs across the organization. This role involves establishing a comprehensive PMO framework to ensure alignment with business goals, regulatory compliance, budgets, timelines, and operational needs.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain a resilient PMO governance structure including program standards, reporting, risk management, and resource allocation.
• Create and update an integrated roadmap for all strategic transformation efforts extending to 2030.
• Manage consultant and vendor relationships, including procurement, contract management, and performance monitoring to guarantee project deliverables meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
• Lead business requirements gathering and validation across diverse functions ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and readiness for solution implementation.
• Drive transformation initiatives related to banking applications and operations, focusing on risk mitigation, process automation, cost efficiency, revenue growth, and enhanced customer experience.
• Provide thorough and decision-oriented reporting to executives, facilitating governance meetings and aligning stakeholder communications throughout project lifecycles.
• Apply project management methodologies suitable to each project’s needs, overseeing from initiation through closure while balancing multiple concurrent projects.
• Support operational excellence by promoting continuous improvement, performance analysis, and standard compliance in programs entrusted.
• Lead and mentor project teams, cultivating collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, IT, Marketing, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, primarily in international banking, financial institutions, or extensive IT/operations environments.
• Minimum 5–6 years in leadership roles overseeing project/program management, banking operations, or business excellence.
• Proven track record managing major transformation programs and PMO operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects within banking or financial services contexts.
• Experience with banking systems, payment platforms, and operational policies strongly preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in project and program management lifecycle, tools, and methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile approaches.
• Strong grasp of banking applications, payment systems, and operational workflows across various banking product lines.
• Leadership skills to inspire, guide, and evaluate project and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication abilities in English and Arabic, capable of navigating multicultural environments.
• Analytical skills for strategic planning, risk identification, and performance improvement.
