Senior Project Engineer - Power & Water (IWPP)

Position Overview

We are facilitating recruitment for a prestigious client in the energy sector based in Qatar, seeking a seasoned Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer. The role involves full lifecycle oversight of significant power generation and water infrastructure developments, ensuring safe, timely, and budget-compliant project delivery.

Key Duties

• Lead all phases of capital project execution from initiation through to completion and close-out.
• Maintain Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) priorities consistently across all project stages.
• Manage project parameters including scope, schedule, cost, and quality to align with strategic objectives.
• Supervise engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning operations effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external parties to ensure efficient project workflow.
• Ensure adherence to applicable standards, regulations, and project requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least twelve years of project engineering or management experience in power generation and/or desalination industries.
• Significant expertise with Integrated Water and Power Plant (IWPP) projects.
• Experience primarily on the client or owner side for major projects, preferably with Middle East exposure.
• Skilled in scope preparation, tender processes, bid assessment, contract administration, and risk evaluation.
• Comprehensive understanding of grid integration, distribution networks, and plant system interfaces.
• Proven ability managing entire project lifecycles from feasibility analysis through to commissioning and handover.
• Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6 and SAP-PS.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
