Role Overview
We are evolving our Finance team with a new Performance & Planning function focused on providing deeper insights and facilitating informed decision-making. We seek a commercially driven Senior Financial Analyst who will partner closely with Retail, Operations, Finance leadership, and store owners to generate actionable insights that elevate sales, profitability, and overall retail performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze store and banner performance data to detect trends, risks, and growth opportunities regarding sales, margins, and profitability.
- Collaborate with Retail and Operations teams to influence commercial decisions that improve business outcomes.
- Support trading reviews and performance discussions by clarifying key business drivers to stakeholders.
- Identify areas to enhance store execution, operational efficiency, and financial metrics.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modelling efforts to assist retail decision processes.
- Deliver forward-focused, actionable financial insights beyond standard reporting.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships across Retail, Operations, and Finance teams to advance strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial finance, especially within retail, FMCG, or sizable complex organizations.
- Strong skills in forecasting, performance analysis, business planning, and supporting strategic decisions.
- Advanced capability in financial modeling and analytics, able to convert complex data into practical business insights.
- Solid understanding of retail economics and the factors driving store performance, including sales, margin, labor, and profitability.
- Proficiency in Excel, SAP, TM1, and Power BI with advanced analytical and modeling expertise.
- Effective communicator who builds relationships with non-finance stakeholders and explains financial details in clear, actionable terms.
- Commercially curious with enthusiasm for leveraging technology, automation, and AI to enhance finance outcomes.
- Committed to continuous improvement, open to challenging existing methods, and driving better practices.
