Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and administration of RDBMS and NoSQL platforms.
• Maintain strong database performance, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery across bare-metal and virtualized environments.
• Set up and manage replication chains, partitioning, sharding, and backup processes.
• Support development teams with database design, optimization, and troubleshooting across relational and non-relational systems.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents and performance issues.
• Increase automation for infrastructure and database lifecycle tasks using Terraform, Puppet, and custom-built tools.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one of MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of additional RDBMS or NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of SQL, including DDL, DML, and DCL.
• Experience working with AWS or GCP cloud environments.
• Strong command of Linux systems.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• English proficiency at B2 level or above.

Nice to have

• Experience with scripting, automation, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Bash, or Python.
• Prior experience managing a team.
• Exposure to observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
