Role overview
This position calls for an experienced database professional who can oversee both relational and non-relational data platforms, keep them tuned for performance, build resilience and failover capabilities, and work closely with engineering teams to solve database-related challenges.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and administration of RDBMS and NoSQL platforms.
- Maintain strong database performance, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery across bare-metal and virtualized environments.
- Set up and manage replication chains, partitioning, sharding, and backup processes.
- Support development teams with database design, optimization, and troubleshooting across relational and non-relational systems.
- Investigate and resolve database incidents and performance issues.
- Increase automation for infrastructure and database lifecycle tasks using Terraform, Puppet, and custom-built tools.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep expertise in at least one of MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Working knowledge of additional RDBMS or NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of SQL, including DDL, DML, and DCL.
- Experience working with AWS or GCP cloud environments.
- Strong command of Linux systems.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- English proficiency at B2 level or above.
Nice to have
- Experience with scripting, automation, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Bash, or Python.
- Prior experience managing a team.
- Exposure to observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
