Role overview

A major Canadian financial institution is hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to support its Treasury and Balance Sheet Management team. This contract role offers exposure to Funds Transfer Pricing, treasury operations, financial reporting, and balance sheet management, while working closely with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update monthly FTP reports and dashboards.
  • Review portfolio results and explain the main factors behind performance.
  • Examine reporting differences and determine the underlying causes.
  • Build executive-ready reports and presentation materials.
  • Support analysis of forecasted versus actual outcomes.
  • Track interest rate changes and summarize their effect on business results.
  • Improve reporting workflows, technical setup, and analytical depth.
  • Work with Finance and Treasury teams to maintain clear and consistent reporting stories.
  • Spot opportunities to improve data accuracy, reporting speed, and the end-user experience.
  • Carry out ad hoc analysis in support of strategic treasury work.
  • Help resolve differences between FTP and financial reporting views of net interest income.
  • Share findings and recommendations with stakeholders and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Finance, Treasury, Reporting, Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics.
  • Experience creating recurring financial or operational reports.
  • Background in treasury, banking, finance, or financial services environments.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven experience building reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform detailed analysis.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to handle deadlines and multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong ownership mindset and work ethic.
  • Finance and/or treasury experience.
  • Experience with Tableau is an asset.
