About the Role
Our client, a fast-growing international IT company leading innovation and transformation, is seeking a seasoned Application Support Engineer to join their expanding team. This role supports a prominent International Banking client, contributing to a key strategic partnership by establishing a near-shore presence aimed at enhancing support across the EU. It offers great prospects for professional growth and exposure to new technologies within a collaborative and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level production support within a critical banking environment.
- Troubleshoot both proactive and reactive incidents effectively.
- Manage stakeholders for the supported applications and act as the main communication point during incidents.
- Handle incident queues and multiple intake channels with timely responses.
- Perform root cause analysis on problem tickets and ensure accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with other internal support teams promptly to resolve issues.
- Create reusable knowledge articles based on incident and service request resolution.
- Lead and mentor team members when required.
- Work flexible shifts between 7am and 7pm, including occasional weekends to cover extended production issues and planned maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in production or application support roles.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL, Unix, and Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Geneos, Grafana, Splunk, and scheduling tools such as Control M or Cronjobs.
- Understanding of ITIL-based production support processes including Incident and Change Management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of GCP, Tableau, MSSQL, UDeploy, Terraform, Jenkins, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Cognos is advantageous.
