About the Role and Impact
Join the Financial Stability Group as a Senior Analyst, contributing your financial system knowledge to enhance supervision, analysis, and advisory activities that reinforce Te Pūtea Matua’s influence. You will be part of the collaborative FMI Supervision team within the Specialist Supervision Directorate, helping safeguard New Zealand's financial market infrastructures (FMIs), which include essential systems for payments and securities settlement. Your focus will be on overseeing systemically important FMIs, particularly relating to securities clearing and settlement, applying the Financial Market Infrastructures Act 2021 and relevant standards.
Your responsibilities include leading analytical reviews, assessing how these entities manage resilience, governance, and strategic risks, and working closely with the Financial Markets Authority as joint supervisor. Additionally, you will influence policy development in response to evolving technologies, product innovations, cyber risks, and geopolitical challenges.
Candidate Profile
- Proven ability to evaluate prudential risks, exercise sound judgment, and produce comprehensive, high-quality written analyses and recommendations for use by management and senior leadership.
- Experience in utilizing frameworks and procedures for risk assessment, option development, and recommendation of preferred strategies.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, trading, payments, or experience in supervision, regulatory environments, financial systems, along with qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
- A strong focus on delivering results by managing priorities effectively, meeting deadlines, and ensuring outputs meet intended objectives.
- Confidence in engaging constructively with regulated organizations, including interaction with management, executives, and board-level personnel.
- A collaborative mindset aligned with a one-team culture, fostering strong relationships internally and with the Financial Markets Authority.
