Key Duties

• Maintaining a tidy, orderly, and safe self-checkout area, free from clutter, debris, and spills.
• Helping customers understand and efficiently operate self-service checkout technology as needed.
• Promoting Walmart's sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives when appropriate.
• Vigilantly observing customers to identify when assistance is necessary.
• Politely explaining to customers why interventions or quality checks may be conducted during self-checkout use, reassuring them these are normal procedures.
• Being knowledgeable about responding appropriately to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately completing the "Failure to Deactivate" log.
• Notifying the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area experiences a low cash supply or technical difficulties.
• Ensuring Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated locations after use.

Compensation

The base hourly pay for this position starts at $18.00 per hour.
