Security Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a Security Specialist to oversee the implementation, administration, and support of enterprise endpoint and email security platforms. This position centers on identifying threats, conducting security monitoring, investigating incidents, managing security policies, and providing operational support to security systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, administer, and maintain endpoint and email security platforms including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Proofpoint Email Security, Trend Micro, and Microsoft Exchange Online Protection.
• Investigate alerts stemming from phishing attempts, malware infections, ransomware events, endpoint breaches, and email-based threats.
• Configure, fine-tune, and optimize security policies to improve detection of threats.
• Perform threat analysis, incident investigation, and lead containment and remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with Security Operations Center teams to handle escalations, conduct threat investigations, and participate in the incident response framework.
• Monitor security solutions ensuring controls are properly configured and functioning effectively.
• Assist in security assessments, compliance audits, and maintain thorough operational documentation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Five to six years of professional experience in cybersecurity operations focusing on endpoint and email security.
• Proven hands-on expertise with platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Proofpoint Email Security, Trend Micro Security Solutions, or Microsoft Exchange Online Protection.
• Comprehensive understanding of endpoint protection mechanisms, email security, phishing analysis, malware investigation, and incident response procedures.
• Experience handling security policy management, alert analysis, and threat mitigation efforts.
• Familiarity with email security protocols including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Competence in integrating security tools with SIEM and SOC platforms.
• Relevant certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Proofpoint, or Trend Micro.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 security environment.
• Experience in threat hunting strategies and advanced security investigation techniques.
• Background supporting enterprise-level security operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills alongside effective documentation capabilities.
