Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Seafreight Operations Specialist to join our Cork-based team on a full-time, on-site basis. The role centers on orchestrating ocean freight shipments from initiation to final delivery, managing documentation, scheduling, and communication with carriers, agents, and customers. Responsibilities include overseeing shipment statuses daily, troubleshooting shipment delays or issues, and ensuring adherence to customs and regulatory demands. The role involves preparing precise shipping instructions, maintaining updated tracking systems, and liaising with internal teams to guarantee seamless service delivery. Continuous process improvement, cost control, and enhancing customer satisfaction within the seafreight segment are key focuses.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret shipment data, assess performance, and pinpoint operational enhancements.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction across customers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Proficiencies in sales to aid customer retention, uncover upselling prospects, and bolster service development.
- Competence in operations management for coordinating seafreight workflows, resource allocation, and maintaining service standards.
- Project management skills to oversee complex shipments, timelines, and engage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Experience in seafreight or broader international logistics operations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with customs protocols, Incoterms, and global trade regulations is advantageous.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- Adept at collaborating in dynamic, fast-paced environments, coupled with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
