Role overview
Gulf Associates is hiring a Scrum Master Intern to help support internal project teams and contribute to a major engagement with a logistics partner. The firm works on commercial decisions where practical market reality matters more than abstract strategy, and this position is designed to help keep the work moving smoothly in a fast-paced advisory setting.
This is a fully remote opportunity, so you can work from any location while gaining exposure to high-stakes commercial environments and how internal coordination supports client-facing decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Run daily coordination meetings for the advisory team so everyone stays aligned on research progress and client needs related to the logistics partner.
- Maintain project boards and refresh task status across research work, counterparty analysis, and decision-support materials.
- Spot workflow issues early and help remove obstacles that could slow down internal briefings or client recommendations.
- Assist the team in improving processes with a more hands-on, practical approach to task management.
- Capture and organize important points from internal strategy discussions so critical details about counterparties are not missed.
- Coordinate internal review timing so senior partners have time to provide input before key client milestones.
- Collect basic information on team throughput and task completion to support planning for future work and resource allocation.
- Attend some senior-level meetings as an observer to learn how process supports commercial judgment.
What the role requires
- Some familiarity with project management methods, along with the flexibility to adapt them to a specialized advisory environment.
- Strong self-organization and the ability to manage your own schedule in a fully remote setup.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters simply and directly.
- Curiosity about business deals, joint ventures, and capital deployment.
- Close attention to detail, especially around deadlines and incomplete task information.
- A results-focused mindset that values useful processes and practical outcomes.
- Comfort handling confidential information with discretion.
- A cooperative approach that values listening and observation as much as active facilitation.
What’s offered
- A paid internship with a monthly stipend that is described as highly competitive for the market and seniority level.
- Full remote flexibility, giving you autonomy over your workspace and daily routine.
- Direct mentorship from senior partners who prioritize real-world commercial logic and substance.
- Exposure to an engagement with a major logistics leader and insight into how large organizations make partnership decisions.
Working style and culture
Gulf Associates says its environment differs from that of large global consultancies. The company emphasizes substance over presentation, results over activity, and a direct, professional culture led closely by partners. The team focuses on producing practical positions that clients can act on immediately rather than theoretical reports. Because the firm handles only a small number of active engagements, each person has a visible impact on project outcomes. Successful team members are expected to be self-driven, honest about what the data shows, and attentive to the practical realities of doing business in the market.
