SAP S/4HANA ABAP Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an SAP ABAP Developer to contribute to ongoing and future SAP projects involving AMS support and S/4HANA transformation initiatives. This position centers on advanced S/4HANA development utilizing RAP, Fiori Elements, and CDS-based techniques, while maintaining flexibility to assist in transitional scenarios or short-term requirements such as AMS or pre-S/4HANA landscapes.

The ideal candidate possesses strong foundational ABAP skills and is either experienced in or eager to adopt modern S/4HANA development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement SAP applications across ECC and S/4HANA environments
• Create applications leveraging RAP and Fiori Elements where relevant
• Enhance and build CDS Views to enable transactional and analytical capabilities
• Adhere to clean coding standards and focus on performance optimization
• Develop and manage OData services (both V2 and V4)
• Collaborate closely with functional consultants, integration teams, and AMS groups
• Contribute to Agile delivery processes for projects and support assignments

Required Technical Expertise

• Extensive experience with ABAP Object-Oriented programming
• Understanding of S/4HANA development concepts and environment
• Familiarity with ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
• Experience with annotation-driven UI development using Fiori Elements
• Proficiency in creating and optimizing CDS Views following layered modeling and push-down principles
• Mastery of modern ABAP syntax and best practices

Development Tools & Standards

• Experience using SAP Business Application Studio or Eclipse ABAP Development Tools
• Knowledge of Git-based source code management and workflows
• Expertise in developing OData services via SAP Gateway (Versions 2 and 4)
• Adoption of clean code principles and ability to write ABAP Unit tests
• Strong emphasis on performance tuning and robust error handling

Desirable Additional Skills

• Capability in flexible workflow development
• Basic understanding of SAPUI5 for extensions (excluding freestyle applications)
• Knowledge of Adobe Forms and output management systems
• Experience with Business Rule Framework plus (BRF+)
• Familiarity with integration patterns and REST APIs
• Understanding of Application Interface Framework (AIF)
• Exposure to SAP Cloud ALM is advantageous
